Much of South Shore remains in COVID-19 red zone and Quincy has first COVID death since August.

With the weather forcing more people in doors and many suffering from pandemic fatigue, COVID-19 cases have been experiencing a rapid rise in recent weeks.

While Quincy experienced a modest decline in infection rates after weeks of a steady rise, Quincy is still within striking distance of a Red Zone rating as well as solidly in the upper end of the Yellow Zone.

At the same time, Quincy suffered its latest COVID-19 fatality this past week and the first since August, someone in her or his eighties and said to not be residing in an extended care facility.
