Quincy continues to lead the way up the COVID-19 curve.

In turn, while other venues are experiencing pandemic fatalities, Quincy continues to be a COVID-19 hot spot.

Per a duly calculated death rate per thousand population basis, Quincy has suffered pandemic deaths at a rate two and half times greater than the statewide average.

Similarly, the Quincy COVID-19 death rate per thousand is just short of two and half times greater than the death rate for Boston residents.

Even more troubling, with but a bit less than eleven percent of the population of Norfolk County, Quincy’s pandemic deaths make up thirty-one percent of the COVID-19 fatalities countywide.

And for an even more troubling yet national point of comparison, Quincy has suffered exactly the same number of COVID-19 death as nine times more populous San Francisco, California.

In response to these grave data, while Koch Maladministration officials did provide COVID-19 presentations virtually during last night’s conducted remotely City Council meeting, no mention was made as to the fact that Quincy has concomitantly been one of the hottest pandemic hot spots in the Commonwealth since the virus first hit the fan earlier this year.

Also apparently not mentioned by the maladministration last night was how Quincy Housing Authority residents have been subjected to a lock down per formal notice which many would read as a de facto quarantine order.

Not that any of the ever-growing legions of loyal Quincy Quarry readers would expect due candor from the Koch Maladministration.

Instead, for the latest example of obscurification, the City of Quincy is apparently the only local government which constantly reports the number of testing confirmed local cases of COVID-19 cases and the number of locals who have recovered in a likely manner of glass half full photo op spin.

At the same time it would sapper that the Koch Maladministration is oblivious to the fact that these same data can then be used to interpolate statistically valid projections of future Quincy COVID-19 fatalities.

Then again, ultimately but a general understanding of inferential statistics is surely beyond comprehension by a Quincy Junior College dropout who has to date been unable to merely make it impossible for Quincy Quarry to figure out just how koched-up are the city’s so-called financials.

Fortunately, at last night’s remotely conducted CIty Council meeting and for a refreshing change, the City Council opted to pass a proactive motion to press the Koch Maladministration to present formal presentations on the city’s finances and budgetary plan going forward.given the still raging pandemic.

While Quincy Quarry can only properly expect that the presentation will be fraught with the usual Koch and mirrors, the Quarry’s ever growing legions of loyal readers can count on it to cut through the anticipated bovine byproduct.

That and duly repudiate most any and all claims that COVID-19 is to blame rather than duly acknowledge the fact that the many years of all but invariably dubious planning by and spending habits of the Koch Maladministration which have long hard-pressed local taxpayers will result in their being even more hard-pressed going forward.
