Quincy Quarry Weekly Fish Wrap: Yellow headed to red?
COVID-19 is making a return visit to the Q.
The Massachusetts Public Health Commission has moved up Quincy’s risk factor to smack dab in the middle of the Yellow Zone.
Granted, while so far the increase in local COVID-19 cases has been but a minor rebound when compared to Quincy’s among the highest rates of infection experienced in larger Massachusetts communities earlier this year, any number of new cases is not a good thing.
Even more troubling, given that the recent local uptick in new COVID-19 infection rates has been a steady increase, Quincy could well find itself in the Public Health Commission’s Red Zone right around the time that Quincy Mayor Koch has all but unilaterally scheduled a return to at least close to regular in classroom education in local public schools.
So what, apparently, about the legitimate concerns from teachers as well as surely at least some parents.
On the other hand, Mayor Koch has cancelled local Veterans Day commemoration activities but not Halloween.
Go figure, what the Q, only in the Q – whatever …
