The Fours Sports Bar In Boston closes after Forty-Four years on Canal Street.

While not the Quincy Fours location, one cannot help but shed a tear for a favorite spot to hit after work in Boston or on the way to or from a sporting event at the TD Bank Garden.

The reason for the closing?

The COVID-19 pandemic both in general and given the postponing of events at the Garden for the duration.

The Fours/Quincy’s new and larger dining patio!

Fortunately, at least so far, the remaining Fours locations in Quincy and Norwell are still open for business.

In fact, all things considered, the Quincy location has been enjoying good business what with it having access to the new plaza between the Fours and the new Hancock Garage for outdoor dining.

Of particular benefit, the greatly enlarged dining space is the north side of the building and thus enjoys the comfort of shade much of day without any need of the umbrellas at most of its new outdoor and mostly bar height dining tables.

That and for the most part so far good weather for outdoor dining.

Better times …

Unfortunately, the outdoor dining space is not equipped with the bounty of multiple flat screens showing all manner of professional sports events for which the Fours has long been famous as one of the first sports bars ever to pour a beer.
