Cambridge Police Department has military assault weapons and an armored vehicle.

For all of the People’s Republic of Cambridge’s recent talk of defunding its police department, including proposing to use unarmed city personnel to hand traffic stops, it turns out that Cambridge may be needing to host a yard sale to dispose of its inventory of military specification armaments.

The Harvard Crimson reports that Cambridge Police Department has in its inventory a Lenco Bearcat armored vehicle, sixty-three Colt M4 assault rifles, eleven sniper rifles of unspecified make(s), eighteen Heckler & Koch (no relation) MP5 submachine guns, and one Lenco Bearcat — a $350,000 armored vehicle.

While it is relatively common knowledge that the Quincy Police Department does have assault rifles forward deployed in its police cruisers, Quincy Quincy has no idea as to what all the department may have in the way of sniper rifles and submachine guns.

At the same time, Quarry does know that – amazingly enough – the Quincy Police Department does not have any armored vehicles.

Quincy Police Chief Paul The Beav Keenan
A City of Quincy head shot

Quincy Quarry considered reaching out to Quincy Police Chief Paul The Beav Keenan – and who surely but coincidentally is Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s brother in law – for comment on his possible interest in picking up used armored car or if he is holding out for a Department of Homeland Security grant to be able to score a new one; however, the Quarry knew better than to bother.
