Plus, as the original fast food treat is a summer regular, today is as good a day as any.

That and many hog dog vendors are offering deals on dogs today.

Then again, they are going to have to do so to drum up business as the humble frankfurter is one of the standard staples kept on hand by COVID-19 pandemic sheltering in place shut-ins, especially those who have to shop carefully given pandemic-imposed cuts in their household income.
