Manhole explosions shut down Charles Street/MGH Red Line station.
The Boston Fire Department said they received a call for smoke coming out of multiple manholes at about 3:15 PM and explosions followed.
Just when one would think that things could not get any worse, they did.
Even worse for the MBTA, it probably had nothing to do with the underlying problem.
Red Line Update: Shuttle buses temporarily replacing Red Line service in both directions from Park Street to Kendall/MIT due to a working manhole fire outside of Charles/MGH station.
