Seventh state trooper pleads guilty in overtime scam.
A less than lucky seventh former state trooper who retired around the time started hitting that fan in the ongoing Massachusetts State Police overtime abuse and other scandals pleaded guilty in federal court on Monday to stealing thousands of dollars.
Federal prosecutors – and who appear to be lead by one of the Assistant US Attorneys who secured guilty verdicts at the trial of the Quincy Police Department’s double and sometimes even triple dipper – say this latest statie to go down submitted fraudulent tickets to conceal the fraud, left overtime shifts early and did not show up for some of the shifts for which he was paid.
Given close that close to three dozen current, suspended or retired Massachusetts State Troopers are still under at least a cloud over suspected overtime and double dipping pay abuses, Quincy Quarry is reviewing how actively it will be covering what looks to be regular such pleading guilty announcements going forward.
