– News about Quincy from and commentary by Quincy Quarry News
A turkey of a Turkey Bowl is on tap locally on Thanksgiving Day.
As astutely prognosticated by the Quincy Quarry News Sports and Gaming Desk some weeks ago, this year’s Thanksgiving Day Game in the Q is going to decide which of the two local high school football teams is arguably this year’s biggest turkey of the larger high school football teams south of Boston.
North Quincy High will come into the Turkey Bowl with but one win over the nerds at Boston Latin Academy whereas Quincy High is winless so far this football season.
One loyal reader from among the growing legions of Quincy Quarry readers views this year’s Quincy High Presidents’ team as the worst since 1998.
Conversely, there have been a number of bad North Quincy High teams since 1998.
That and North Quincy High’s running late, way over budget and controversial football stadium is still far from finished.
Regardless, expect Quincy Quarry to continue to cover the game.
Figuring out which team is going to cover the spread, however, is a crap shoot.
And on other fronts, the Hancock Street Misalignment project in Quincy Center continues to run late as well as all but assuredly over budget. That and racing to finish before the production of asphalt ceases for the winter.
In fact, so frequent have been the delays on the Hancock Street Misalignment project that Quincy Quarry has so far not bothered to exposé the latest delay – roughly two weeks this time – so as to not further traumatize the few remaining (legitimate, ed.) retailers left in Quincy Center as the holiday season approaches.
And as for other breaking badly bad news for the Q, it continues to be a relatively quiet time before the long-anticipated shitschturms hit the Q when both the Double Dipper and Dan FlynnFlam officially turn state’s evidence as is widely expected so as to endeavor to mitigate their respective terms as guests of the feds at Club Fed.
At this point, only who all might be joining them and for how long remain uncertain – at least not as far as Quincy Quarry is going to report at this point.
After all, Quincy Quarry has both long and vigorously protected its sources both high but mostly low.
And as for other City Hall snafus, Quincy Quarry yet again scooped its media brethren that City Hall has yet again dissed the disabled by failing to provide required handicapped parking spaces for locals wishing to Early Vote this year and so be done with it.
That and do not be surprised if this latest City Hall Q-up suffers even more negative media coverage.
