What does a bear do in the woods in Newton?
A bear is said to have been sighted in Newton recently,
Authorities were not able to track it, much less catch it, however.
Local news media, on the other hand, went into a coverage feeding frenzy.
Even so, this sighting was not new news as it was the second somewhat recent bear sighting in Newton.
In June of 2013, a suspected to be a roughly year old bear cub was run up a tree and later shot dead by the Massachusetts Environmental Police.
As such, this latest sighting was surely of another bear.

Fortunately for the environmental police, Mama Grizzly was apparently away speaking or some such self-promoting sort of thing.
In the meanwhile, whether – or not – this second bear sighted in Newton meets the same fate remains to be seen.
