– News about Quincy MA from Quincy Quarry News.
Quincy suffers Koch trafficking.
On an  otherwise quiet Saturday morning, Quincy was subjected to embattled incumbent Mayor Thomas Koch campaign sign clutter first thing in the morning.
At the same time, someone in the Koch campaign inner circle appears to have Q’ed up as passing traffic at this campaign standout site was thin to the point of nearly none.
Speaking of thin, so were the number of campaign coat holders out holding campaign sign instead.
After all, this Koch standout was surely koched up in reaction to the latest and far more numerous number of protesters protesting against embattled incumbent Mayor Thomas Koch in front of City Hall this past Thursday afternoon at the start of the evening commute.
Either that or this less than outstanding standout was orchestrated as a less than outstanding show of strength in the face of multiple mayoral contenders this election year.
Further, the other candidates are out door-knocking the old-fashion campaigning way as well as doing what the duly embattled incumbent Mayor Koch is not known for doing: spending frugally.
Per the latest Koch Committee campaign fund report filing with the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance, merely but weeks into the campaign season Koch is approaching a funds burn rate of upwards of $65,000.00 a month with less than $212,000.00 in the bank but with almost 5 months to go to the November General Elections – if, that is, he survives the September primary.
As Koch campaign fund contribution tithes have dropped dramatically recently as well as potential problems pending over Koch apparently very actively – however quietly – soliciting massive gratuities from well-paid snow haulers and others as well as expected federal questioning of his receipt of campaign fund contributions from parties tied to an ambulance company that is currently undergoing a federal grand jury inquisition, the Koch campaign’s widely suspected plans to blow well past previous campaign spending records may soon be facing a cash flow crunch.
As such, Quincy Quarry can thus only assume that many city workers will soon be behooved to step up with even more contributions for the team so as to make up the now likely shortfall in previously expected special interest campaign fund contributions.
Even given the inflated pay for often modest to very modest actual work done as well as often considerable overtime perks awarded to some, many city employees are sure to soon be feeling financial pain comparable to that of long suffered by local taxpayers during the era of the free-spending Koch Maladministration.

Isn’t that the Quincy MerryMen fountain/car wash in the background?
Yes, in the Kim Jung Koch Memorial park.
Actually, it’s the unofficial Dad Jung Koch Memorial Park. Kim Jung Koch Plaza is proposed for in front of City Hall if its namesake can ever scare up the at last count $30 million needed in total to complete it.
Or is it closer to $40 million if one counts the Hancock Street realignment project. After all, absent the roadway relocation, there is nowhere near enough space available for the plaza.
Thank John.
Having trouble keeping my Kim’s straight.
