Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s Hair continues to be carefully coiffed.
At a time when hair care professionals are on COVID-19 hiatuses, Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s signature hair helmet continues to be meticulously – if not also obsessively – coiffed.
Who only knows how, however, as Massachusetts barbershops and hair salons have been shutdown for over six weeks given the COVID-19 pandemic.
Plus, normally at this time of year, Mayor Koch is regrowing his hair following the annual Granite Communication fundraising buzz-off.
This year, however, Mayor Koch was on a junket to Ireland when heads were shaved.
This Granite Communication annual event raised $7 million dollars this year to support cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Mayor Koch did say “… he’ll get a buzzcut soon to show support …” but has yet to do so even if the current COVID-19 shelter in place order would appear to make for an ideal time for him to be on the down low while his hair regrew.
Unless, that is, there might a hair root color anomaly.
Plus, with a face for radio, retaining his hair for his roughly handful of weekly local COVID-19 YouTube updates is probably a good thing for the relatively few viewers monitoring these YouTubes.
On the other hand, however, it might be boffo for viewership metrics if Mayor Koch were to have himself buzzed as promised during one of his often insipid YouTubes, if not also undertaken as a follow-on Saving by Shaving fundraiser.
After all, how tough would it be to tap his considerable campaign war chest to order a set of hair clippers online and then video – say – his wife giving him a wiffle?
That and concurrently make an especially generous donation to his buddy and arguable real estate development joint venture partner Jim Hale’s Saving by Shaving fundraiser given that this is the second time that Mayor Koch has ducked suffering a wintertime wiffle.
Do not bother with a cut Koch. It won’t help!
