Massachusetts State Police to investigate the latest pedestrian fatality in Quincy.

 

Last night shortly after 10 pm, Massachusetts State Police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle on Quincy Shore Drive at Alstead Street in North Quincy.

The pedestrian, a Quincy resident, was transported to Boston Medical Center by ambulance and where he was pronounced deceased from the injuries sustained from the crash.

 

Per policy, the State Police will be conducting an investigation of this fatality and as it did in the previous pedestrian fatality this year in Quincy.

 

In turn, in the wake of the first pedestrian fatality earlier this year, this second fatality still early in the calendar year puts Quincy on pace to perhaps set a new record for pedestrian fatalities during a single calendar year or at least puts Quincy on track to at least match last year’s five pedestrian fatalities.
