Local streets are fraught with black care of today’s light rain that then turned to ice given a quick temperature drop to below freezing after sunset. That and an apparent lack of pretreating local streets with salt in advance of what was a well-forecast freezing rain event today.
While the impending latest and well-forecast middling snowstorm is about to hit the Q, Quincy Quarry newshounds out and about have yet again not seen any sign of pretreating local streets with brine or at least rock salt for at least the second snowstorm in a row.
Both snow and all sorts of related things hit the fan in the Q during yesterday’s hours long, steady, and all but unrelenting snowfall.
While not as ugly for Quincy residents as the Super Bowl played out for Kansas City Chiefs players, yesterday’s snowfall in the Q made for a mess.
With snow piling up, if not also rapidly, Quincy Quarry newshounds report that snowplows are all but nowhere to be seen as of two hours after snow began falling today shortly before lunchtime. One theory, perhaps some plow drivers are warming up before hitting the road.
