Granted, climate change does appear to be happening; however, Quincy is still likely due for a snowy winter even if such winters are becoming fewer and farther between. After all, California was hit with at least near record snowfalls and rain last winter after years of suffering a brutal drought.
Even so, expect considerable grandstanding by City of Quincy officials as it is an election year and tukases must be covered, considerably to potentially extraordinarily expensive for local taxpayers notwithstanding.
At the same time, it is only fair to note that the Sumner Tunnel renovation project’s projected completion date is the end of August and thus there is plenty of time for things to go south.
In other words, pretty much the same old/same old cavalier maintenance of most any of the all too often sorry streets in Quincy.
With the Fourth falling on a Tuesday this year, one can only assume that many senior City Hall suits will also be taking a “personal day” on Monday, if not also slip out the back early on Friday to maximize a long holiday weekend.
