Updated coverage!
Quincy Quarry News was dimed word of a MBTA 217 route bus stuck during today’s morning commute.
The bus ended up stuck after stopping at Atlantic Middle School on a rise along Hollis Street on its way to pass by North Quincy High School while on a special school time route so as to see Atlantic and North Quincy students transported to their schools.
Apparently, black to glare ice care of last night’s snow turning to rain followed by a hard freeze into ice caused the bus to end up stuck.
A civilian call was said to have been made to the Quincy Police Department to seek assistance and the MBTA driver apparently called in to her dispatcher.
Further, once it was safe to do so, students were allowed to exit the bus and so move along to their classes.
As Quincy Quarry News is continuing to work the story, the Quarry’s ever-growing legions of readers can count on it to report updates as might be appropriate.
For example, was a tow needed for the bus, did some road salt do the trick or if perhaps spreading a bag of kitty litter provided sufficient traction.

I’d suggest that the City run most student bus routes but it would end up like the DPW and suck worse than the MBTA. Someone thank Grazioso for ignoring his job again. The smoke show he gave the Council and the tongue bath he gave Larry Pretendeville led to no better attention to our streets nor safety. Please do not ask him to explain to the Council again, we were all put to sleep at the past BS presentation.
