Quincy, Boston, and much of the South Shore area are included in Blizzard Warning area for tonight into tomorrow evening.

The storm is expected to inflict even an greater impact than late January’s roughly two foot deep fluffy and thus relatively easy to clear snow event.

Reasons include the inbound storm will be a full on bombogenesis grade nor’easter that will be dumping a considerable amount of dumping pasty and heavy snow.

How considerable?

Upwards of two feet.

The only good news is that the peak of the storm surge midday tomorrow will mostly during low tide.

On the other hand, there are concerns that frozen ocean ice might end up blown onto shore and so cause damage..

And as for local adverse concerns, they include a school snow day tomorrow on what was supposed to be the first day back to school after winter vacation week with at least a second snow day looking possible to perhaps likely.

Even more problematic for all Quincy locals and businesses is that a reliable source has advised Quincy Quarry News that the City of Quincy has run out of capacity at its “snow farms” to receive snow scooped up to clear snow blockages and be left somewhere out of the way to eventually melt.

As such, while snow from the large snow event in late January as well as most events since have either been hauled away and/or melted away in recent days, the impending snow will be deep and heavy as well as most likely for the most part will have be left to melt where it is but plowed mostly sorta/kinda out of the way as much as possible.

Melting of such but plowed snow, however, will be limited at best through at least next weekend given overnight lows expected in the teen and twenties with daytime highs in the thirties.

Further problematic are local residential streets as many were less than widely plowed after previous snow events and thus often enough still hemmed in by snow banks.

Long ongoing problem in Quincy. Very long ongoing

Even worse, so snow impacted streets include many of the typically narrow streets under even the best of the warm weather time of the year in Houghs Neck and Quincy locals know how little it takes to see Nekkers hot under the collar..

In turn, about the only good news locally is that Monday’s City Council meeting will likely be postponed and so allow Koch Machine officials to duck a planned hearing to grill them over the less than laudatory response to the major January snow event until another time.
