A free outdoor concert by the Dropkick Murphy’s, a Celtic punk band with roots in Quincy, was presented on Saturday in Quincy Center and has been reported by the South Shore broadsheet to have been attended by 10,000 fans.
Of particular import, things went surprisingly well.
Then again, the concert was held between 4 pm and 6;30 pm on a day too hot for drinking Guinness and perhaps also too early in the day for drinking Bushmills©.
In short, it would appear that the event was well-planned and thus a great surprise given that it was a koched-up event.
Can’t help but wonder whether the future concerts planned for the Q will also require the traffic that’s already a Charlie Foxtrot to be repeatedly screwed up — for at least two days — for each of the various future concerts. Heaven forbid, of course, the city would decide to utilize the stadium, or Pageant Field.
Pray for rain.
