Die Hard with a Vengeance

After several weeks of the Quincy Quarry News Weekly Fish Wrap taking a break, the wrap is back.
Back with a vengeance.
Simply put, not just the week heated up this past week.
First up was coverage of Quincy Mayor Thomas Koch’s finding himself slapped with a Muzzle Award for his clear violation of the religious rights via his long secret plans to put statues of two Roman Catholic patron saints on the impending new City of Quincy public safety headquarters.
So what that his plans are in clear violation of both the Massachusetts and US Constitutions.
In turn, Quincy Quarry News was dimed with word of most likely the first court hearing about the statues is on for or about July 28th.
This court hearing is to address the American Civil Liberties Union, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, The Freedom From Religion Foundation, and fifteen local taxpayers’ preliminary ask that the court issue an injunction to preclude installing the statues until a full court hearing addresses the all but certain illegality of installing these religious statues on a public building as well as funding them with public money.
Needless to say, the Quarry is rooting for Quincy Mayor Thomas Koch to be spanked by the court as well as done in open court.
Spanked so hard that perhaps even his top aide Pinocchio Walkbacker might not would enjoy such a spanking even if Quincy’s peerless mayor will surely opt to appeal the court’s expected ruling and so be spanked even more.
If not also harder.
If not a lot harder.
And for the money shot of the week was the Quarry’s coverage that a bit over a week ago that Standard & Poor slapped the City of Quincy with a credit rating cut as well as concurrently pose the possibility — if not in fact the all but certain inevitability — of another rating cut as Mayor Koch’s spending is all but out of control.
Quincy Quarry should go visit the new multi million dollar animal Shelter. Buckets all over the place inside because the roof is leaking everywhere. But I am sure the contractor donated to the mayor so it doesn’t matter. Maybe there should be a statue of St. Francis inside for the animals. I am surprised the city didn’t put one in.
John,
My sculpture of St. Francis is tied up in Customs given President Trump’s ever-changing tariff rates as well as that apparently Mayor Koch can’t come up with the money to see the statue released from their impoundments.
If the new near $30 million animal shelter only has leaks in its roof such is a huge upgrade from the usual work product of City of Quincy construction projects.
