An image of most every boy’s dream toy

On a cold and relativity quiet morning around 7:30 AM Thursday past, a van in bright red Quincy Fire Department livery and noting it to be a maintenance vehicle blew past Quincy Quarry News Mobile 1B on Quincy Shore Drive while traveling easterly along Quincy Shore Drive near the Squantum Yacht Club.
Hastily rolling along notwithstanding, the Fire Department van was not flashing lights on its roof as it did not have a light bar.
Quincy Quarry News Mobile 1B tried its best to tail the van without breaking speed laws — at least not excessively anyway — but lost visual contact with the van on Southern Artery near the police headquarters when Mobile 1B was delayed by a red traffic light.
It was hoped that the van had pulled into MIckey D’s on Southern Artery for a cheaper but better cuppa Joe than Dunks; however, such was not to be as the red van instead scooted up McGrath Highway.
Assuming the van driver was running late and so racing to work, Quincy Quarry Moblie 1B rolled by the Quincy Fire Department’s main station on Quincy Avenue on the edge of Quincy Center with the goal of snapping snap an image of the van, however, the van was nowhere to be seen.
Similarly, follow-on drive-by’s were also unsuccessful.
Accordingly, absent an image and a plate number, there was no point for the Quarry to consider reaching out to fire chief for comment.
