Quincy Massachusetts News by Quincy Quarry News – News, Opinion and Commentary.
Last night shortly before closing time, the Quincy Fire Department rolled a considerable response to one of the two residential waterfront towers in Marina Bay on what was the coldest night in roughly two years.
Fortunately, the tower did not end up a giant ice cube care of water hosed on the building as the fire call was apparently triggered by an isolated problem with an electrical panel that was then quickly addressed.
After firefighters who were originally (mis)directed to roll to the other of the two matching towers moved to where they were actually needed, that is.
In any event, while there was smoke as well as that an unknown number of evacuations were mostly undertaken in an abundance of caution, homelessness over the holidays was averted for residents other than perhaps temporarily for those who had relied on electricity provided by the problematic electrical panel.
Needless to say, Quincy Quarry News overgrowing legions of loyal readers can count on the Quarry to continue to follow this story and report updates as might be appropriate on this early holiday season miracle.

Nicole: Respectfully, in the rush to push out the news of the day ASAP, editing is often slighted and which regular readers know happens. Plus, the weekend night crew drinks. To this end, rewrite does its best to effect fixes ex post publication.
Why just have luxury waterfront living when you can add a side of near-catastrophe? Kudos to whoever thought ‘fire safety’ was optional in a building where residents probably pay more for parking than most folks pay in rent. It’s almost poetic: the ‘hot’ real estate market takes on a whole new meaning. Maybe next time, instead of focusing on balcony bars and fancy lobbies, they’ll spring for a proper sprinkler system. But hey, nothing says ‘exclusive’ like narrowly escaping a blaze with an artisanal sourdough baguette in hand!
