While if nothing else, the Koch Maladministration is all too well-known for failing to deliver on time on most anything it does.
As such, when Quincy Quarry News happened up something looking to be readied early such deserved a feature store in the Quarry.
The looking to be running early project?
Putting up Christmas lights two weeks before Halloween.
Then again, such is ultimately no big surprise.
After all, Quincy peerless mayor loves presents as well as leading local parades such as Quincy’s Christmas Parade over Thanksgiving weekend and so endeavor to walk off some holiday dining turkey stuffing.
Also of no great surprise, an outside vendor was retained to put up the holiday lights and thus likely why putting up the lights is running early rather than late.
Oh, wonderful! Christmas lights in October—because why not ruin the last shreds of autumn before Halloween even gets here? Nothing screams “holiday spirit” quite like jamming Santa and reindeer down everyone’s throats when we’re still figuring out Halloween costumes.
But I guess if Quincy is going to jump the gun, we might as well accept that Thanksgiving is just an over-glorified speed bump between pumpkin spice and peppermint mocha season. Well played, Quincy. If you’re gonna be early, might as well be way early. 🎄✨
