The two most significant events of the week for Quincy entailed a milestone for Quincy Quarry News as well as the usual out of the MBTA.
The milestone?
Quincy Quarry News’ tenth birthday!
So much for those who hoped it would not last …
Needless to say,Quincy Quarry celebrated and the attendees for the celebration included notables.
at the same time, productivity in the Quincy Quarry Newsroom suffered afterwards.
Fortunately, it was a slow week.
Locally anyway.
And the other big local news of the week?
This past week’s substitute bus shuttle service on the Red Line was extended an extra day and thus will continue through (at least, ed.) Monday.
The reason?
One of the usual reasons at the MBTA — a rail car crash.
In this case, a maintenance rail car hit another rail car.
Accordingly, an extra day of bus shuttle service was then scheduled on Monday, August 26, so as to check for track damage and such as well as then effect any needed repairs.
Needless to say, the impacted MBTA employees will likely appreciate the overtime pay now coming their way and probably almost as much as the contractors who will be scoring some extra time and materials revenue.
