Friday night shortly after 9 pm, a Quincy Quarry News Citizen Police Scanner monitor heard word of a triple drug overdose incident in Quincy Point near where the USS Salem is berthed in former Fore River shipyard

Further, this triple overdose incident occurred within a block of three overdose incidents that occurred within but days of each other earlier this year.

Needless to say by anyone paying attention even if not all that well-reported other than by Quincy Quarry, overdoses are tragically all too common in Quincy.

In fact, the City of Quincy will be holding a vigil this coming Wednesday evening in front of City Hall to remember those lost to the scourge of drug abuse.

So what, however, about seeing much progress in Quincy as local fatal overdoes have been running higher on a per capita basis both in general in recent years as well as also ugly when compared to peer communities.
