While banana cream pie is the favored pie for pie fights, it is tough to top a slice or two of lemon meringue pie on a summer day as a light and refreshing dessert or even just all by itself.

In turn, August 15 — National Lemon Meringue Pie Day — is the day to at least be reminded of the tasty pastry treat that is lemon meringue pie.

Plus, one can tell oneself that a slice or two of lemon meringue pie is a source of Vitamin C as well as the meringue provides (some, ed.) protein.
