Care of a Quincy Quarry News reader the Quarry is able to report of an alleged troubling incident.
Last night around midnight someone residing in Crowley Court, a residential community for elderly-disabled within the Quincy Housing Authority’s Gerrmantown housing complex, was apparently disturbed by someone trying to open a door to the resident’s residence.
When the door could not opened, the individual headed to his car.
Concurrently, the resident both went outside to both ask why the individual tried to open the resident’s door as well as take some pictures of the person.
The individual then allegedly pulled a gun on the resident.
Fortunately, the resident was able to safely retreat and then called Quincy police. In turn, police are said to have quickly arrested the individual on charges of assault and battery with a firearm.
There is a rumor of a stabbing at the Y that has not been reported by anyone, yet everyone that goes knows it happened. Does QQ know or have the ability to find out, where these others, including officials have something stuffed in their ……
Thanks
Johnson,
Quincy Quarry heard rumblings of what you heard but couldn’t quite see the word reach the level of publishing a story about it. In any event, there has long been the appearance of violent crimes in Quincy not seeing much in the way of transparency outside of on arraignment dockets and such at Quincy District Courthouse.
Today August 1, a fight in the stands at the ballpark along Merrymount? Anyone hear anything?
It’s reassuring to know that our local law enforcement is still capable of catching criminals, as long as they don’t stray too far from the scene. Kudos to the officers for successfully navigating the treacherous five-minute drive from the station to Germantown. Now, if only they could be as efficient in dealing with the neighborhood’s parking violations and stray cats. Baby steps, I guess.
The suspect was released the next day on a 500 bond on the Germantown incident.
Vic,
Is a hearing date pending or were the charges “Continued Without A Finding?”
If this was an elderly property managed and owned by the Quincy Housing Authority, I wonder what the housing authority is going to do to protect the seniors. Did they follow up with the victims to see if they are OK. After an incident like that I am sure the victim is living in fear. Did I read that they let the person out on a bond for $500. If so, the courts failed the victim and it is not the first time. The courts need to hold people accountable for their actions. He should be held until next hearing, he is a danger to the community. Just my opinion
Karen,
Even worse, the alleged incident was at a senior housing facility for the DISABLED that is run by QHA.
And for the alleged perp, so much for MA gun laws and how assaulting a senior is a special circumstance subject to added charges and longer time served.
Granted, the gun was surely seized. Even so, the said to be released on $500 cash bond never would have been granted if the alleged perp did what is asserted in — say — Squantum or at the mayor’s house.
