Clearly, the Quincy Police Department bicycle officer presence at the court house is care of a mutual aid assistance request by the Dedham Police Department even if Massachusetts State Police are arguably the more appropriate police agency in the Commonwealth to provide security to a state courthouse.
Then again, given clear questions about the involvement of certain staties in the curious investigation of the death of Boston Police officer John O’Keefe and most especially their testimony regarding same, relying on staties might be ill-advised.
Seriously ill-advised.
In any event, about the only unknown is if the Quincy bicycle officers pedaled to Dedham or if they schlepped their two-wheeled rides to Dedham via a Quincy Police Department four-wheeled ride.
Needless to say, if the Karen Read trial lingers any longer, Quincy Quarry News will need to find out how the bikes made it to Dedham so as to provide support until the jury renders its verdicts.
That and perhaps also find the best place for doughnuts in Dedham.
Please look into this. I live in Quincy. Following the Read trial as well. Would LOVE a FOLLOW UP. MANY HERE IN QUINCY WONDERING WHY AS WELL. THANKS.
Teresa,
No argument, the Karen Read trial has gripped the attention of more than just many thousands of peeps in and around Greater Boston. Additionally, Quincy Quarry’s criminal and other affairs editor has been all over things since early on c/o sources variously better than just following Turtleboy.
At the same time, much to the crime editor’s chagrin, most of the case does not have ties to Quincy and Quincy Quincy Quarry’s raison d’etre is LOCAL corruption. As such, the Quarry holds its Read case coverage to things with local angles.
That said, the Quarry agrees with Howie Carr’s opining that the feds don’t spend serious money on expert analyses IN SUPPORT of someone accused of killing a cop as well as who only knows how much more in the way of shoe leather investigating matters unless they are convinced that the Commonwealth’s case is rancid bovine excrement.
Further, you can count on the Quarry to cover things as only it can should rumored sealed indictments in Boston’s Moakley Federal Courthouse be unsealed and then perhaps US Marshals make a house call to Meathead’s house in Squantum.
The Quincy Bicycle Police are pedaling their way to the Dedham Courthouse for the Karen Read trial. Because nothing screams “serious legal proceedings” like a fleet of officers on their trusty two-wheelers. Maybe they’ll arrive just in time to pop a wheelie in front of the courthouse steps or perhaps engage in a thrilling slow-motion chase with jaywalkers.
I mean, I get it. Bicycles are eco-friendly and all that jazz. But let’s be real—this isn’t exactly the Tour de France. Are they planning to set up a peloton in the parking lot? Maybe they can add a little bell symphony to lighten the courtroom mood.
So, here’s to the Quincy Bicycle Police, proving that sometimes, the wheels of justice really do turn slowly… especially when you’re pedaling uphill.
