Last night’s but middling rainfall has proven to be too much rainfall for the already waterlogged Quincy.
Streets in all areas of Quincy have been flooded and many so closed late this morning.
Even worse, a high 11.4 foot high tide is expected today at 12:17 pm.
Streets flooded and so closed include the East Squantum Street causeway, much of Furnace Brook Parkway, lower McGrath Highway as well as parts of Germantown.
In particular, the Victory Road entrance to Marina Bay off of East Squantum Street has two abandoned cars which per the police radio chatter will be left in place until the high tide flooding abates.
Several vehicles have become disabled attempting to pass through this area, we urge you not to drive through flowing, flooding waters you cannot determine the depth of. pic.twitter.com/xBGGsklSUH

Update: Victory Road at East Squantum Street reopened to traffic at 3:06 pm, nearly three hours after today’s high tide both stranded two cars as well as closed Victory Road to non-emergency through traffic.
Police and Fire personnel are effecting rescues here, there, and most everywhere as first responder radio chatter as flooded with incident calls as local flooding levels.
Further, access to Squantum has been limited to emergency vehicles only as the East Squantum Street causeway has been hit with flooding.

Needless to say, Quincy Quarry’s ever-growing legion of loyal readers can count on the Quarry to continue to cover this citywide flooding emergency and report updates as well as post on the scene flooding video as soon as possible.
But how is this the mayor’s fault?
THE INFRASTRUCTURE. Quincy has not spent the money wisely. In fact, every penny spent has been wasted on things that won’t work. FEMA is who Quincy uses as a crutch. It stands for female engineers making advances. Quincy relies completely on that agency. They blame them, when all they are is an advisory group. No teeth, just recommendations. Bad ideas is not close to describing how dumb that agency is. So yeah, it’s the mayor’s fault. Stevie Lynch too, and Markey the ice cream man and the flake who you people voted for 4 Senator.
Enjoy the water
Johnson,
No offense, but the Koch Maladministration has pretty much misspent and/or profligately all but pervasively. Case in point, his FY 2024 budget spending is up by a duly adjusted 10% from FY 2023 spending. In turn, local 2024 residential property tax bills reflect same with even more ugly to follow in coming years.
Indeed. Flooding is just 1 issue. Inadequately addressed
Loyal Reader:
Are you asking how?
After all, nowhere is Quincy’s peerless mayor mentioned in this Quincy Quarry News story.
What is the total number of animal deaths at the temporary Quincy Animal Shelter today, and how many were suicides?
