Just as teams making it to the playoffs and their respective seeds are still in flux as the last weekend of regular season play happens this coming weekend, so too does the race to the bottom to move up in the NFL draft.
Currently, the New England Patriots would be looking at the third pick if the NFL season ended last weekend after losing to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, however, there is one more weekend of regular season games to go.

While the Chicago Bears are a lock to score the first pick via a trade last year with this year’s cellar dweller the Carolina Panthers, with yet another loss on Sunday by the New England Patriots along with wins by the Washington Commander and Arizona Cardinals, the Patriots would end up with the second pick in the draft.

If, however, the New England Patriots can somehow or other manage to beat the almost as woeful this season New York Jets, the Patriots are likely to pick outside of the top three, but no lower than seventh overall.
In any event, about the only other potential positive end to this year’s woeful Patriots season is that its Sunday game at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough is looking to be a whiteout given forecasts of perhaps the first significant snow event in Eastern Massachusetts in at least a couple of years.
In any event, a Quincy Quarry News poll follows.
