After over two months of little newsworthy heard by Quincy Quarry News’ Citizen Police Scanner Monitors, a for the most part otherwise quiet Saturday night in Quincy Center was disrupted shortly before midnight by a head-on collision on Washington Street near its intersection with Elm Street.

The accident was so considerable that Washington Street was closed to through traffic and vehicles thus detoured around the accident scene.

At the same time, while accidents along this run of Washington Street are common, this head-on accident is perplexing as it occurred where Washington is straight, wide open, and well-lighted by streetlights.
