Traffic signal whacking plummeted to new low in Quincy late Saturday afternoon.

A suspected Houghs Neck Chowdafest attendee who probably should have taken an Uber home but instead looks to have ended up taken away after leaving quite a trail of damage before the suspected chowderhead’s ride came to a stop in a fence next to the baseball diamond at LaBrecque Field.

Quincy Quarry News has been advised that the damage inflicted by the suspected chowderhead began with taking out the flashing yellow light for the Atherton Hough Elementary School’s parking lot entrance.

The chowderhead’s out of control vehicle then trashed some landscaping at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, took out a traffic signal at the intersection of Sea and Darrow streets, appears to have damaged Father Marty’s car, and then traversed the LeBreque Field parking lot before coming to a halt in the fence that borders the field’s baseball diamond.

Needless to say, Quincy police subsequently responded to the chowderhead’s lengthy crash scene.

The good news, not to mention reinforcing the fact that one should attend religious services, none of Most Blessed Sacrament’s parishioners were struck as they were heading into church for Saturday evening Mass.
