National Pickleball Day is today but some are not on board with Pickleball.
The problem?
Noise.
As reported today via video snippet by Quincy Quarry News’ media brethren at Boston 25 as well as other media previously, complaints about noise generated by Pickleball players are growing as the sport becomes increasingly popular.
While not a gansta grade problem, apparently the sound of striking a Pickleball is louder than one might think as well as that the pattern of the noise can be especially annoying.
Accordingly, the careful siting of courts and use of sound barriers are advised.
So far, however, no slgns of either being taken under consideration by the Koch Maladministration as it develops Pickleball courts in Quincy.
So what, apparently, for the fact that the Koch Maladministration found itself in a pickle in recent months over its on the down low plans to fill in the Ruth Gorden Amphitheater at Pageant Field and then build another playground within Merrymount Park.
Also so what for the fact that there is there is plenty of open land available at the park nearby to add a second playground if there is actually a need for more jungle gyms and swing sets.
Then again, the Koch Maladministration is not known for thoughtful as well as tax dollar-effective planning.
