On a hot July Saturday afternoon things became even hotter when a distressed male who had allegedly flashed a handgun then barricaded himself in a residence on Davis Street near Wollaston Beach in general vicinity of the Clam Box clam shack.
Police radio chatter further indicated that the distraught individual had pulled the gun on someone and then may have ditched it in a mailbox.
Needless to say, police quickly responded to the scene.
A perimeter was then established with ambulances ominously parked nearby at the ready.
Fortunately, a Quincy police lieutenant and a female officer apparently took the lead on this incident and then successfully talked down the individual before he might have hurt himself or others with the individual then taken into protective custody.
All in all, strong work by all of the Quincy police department personnel who successfully played roles defraying a dangerous situation.
Great job by the police.
Strong work indeed!
