Shortly after midnight last night first responders were dispatched to respond to a report of a potential jumper on the seventh floor of an apartment building within the Faxon Commons apartment complex at 1071 Southern Artery.
Four police cruisers and an ambulance were dispatched all but immediately with Engine 3 of the Quincy Fire Department arriving shortly thereafter.
Police initially were on the ground in front and back of the building as they did not know where the potential jumper was even if they had been advised that the person was in unit 709.
Further troubling, initially first responders were uable to enter the building.
Fortunately, after a bit of time first responders were able to access the apartment. talk the person off of the ledge, and then see him to an ambulance for transportation to an appropriate care facility.
All in all, “strong work” by Quincy first responders!
