– News about Quincy Massachusetts from Quincy Quarry News with commentary added
Earlier this week, Quincy at Large City Councillor Anne Mahoney, a long ongoing and valid critic of the Koch Machine, announced her bid to see overly long as well as problematic incumbent Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch voted out of office in the upcoming local elections in November.
Granted, the Koch Machine is both dug in and possessing of an ironically fat campaign war chest; however, one should keep in mind how Ukraine has bloodied Russia something fierce in their ongoing war.
That and how the Koch Machine has a long history of problems and scandals.
And for a recent example, Quincy Quarry’s exposé of purported side hustling while on the City’s clock by a City of Quincy department head.
This exclusive Quincy Quarry exposé was then followed- up with a second feature that the alleged side hustler is now planning to soon “retire” at the age of fifty-two instead – it would appear – of duly facing a proper and full outside investigation that one can only reasonably expect could well then result in felony indictments.
Then again, with the purported side hustler married to an even more senior Koch Maladministration insider whom no Kochster would care to see face hard questioning, attempting to bury things was only to be expected for reasons including that the Quarry has long been advised of side hustling by others within another city department headed by a hack hire who would appear to be in well over his head.
And on other fronts, Quincy continues to be experiencing all manner of public safety concerns and worse.
Without even trying hard, the Quarry addressed four police responses in recent days.
One Quarry story was a twofer involving a youth who was hit by a motor vehicle in one instance and then a second involving an unrelated gun waiving incident of road rage.
Next up, the Quarry ran a Citizen Journalist feature on how a driver whose driver’s license was suspended per police radio chatter was not arrested when he rolled his ride late at night on a quiet and narrow street in Quincy Center.
And finally, Quincy police officers engaged in a high speed but so far apparently unsuccessful chase all the way to Stoughton where police lost contact with two suspects’ ride per scanner chatter and who were sought over alleged assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
How badly has public safety appear to have declined in Quincy?
It would appear a lot.
A whole lot.
For example, Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch has for a change named the top candidate per his near unique compliance with Civil Service criteria to select an actually well-qualified candidate to replace the current Quincy Police Chief who himself was third on the candidate and surely but coincidentally is one of Mayor Koch’s brothers-in-law who is retiring this month.
Even so, however, the pending new Quincy Police chief is the son of a well-connected and controversial vendor of equipment of goods and services.
In short, some things never change.
In Quincy anyway.
