Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s long ongoing as well as expensive to taxpayers hope to see “A New Quincy Center” actually happen is enjoying a modest step forward!
The well-worn McDonald’s location on Southern Artery is undergoing a full makeover and which was surely undertaken so as to at least remain competitive.
At least as regards the facilities of this McDonald’s with those of nearby Popeyes Chicken and Wendy’s that is.
Breaking out their lunch buckets at lunchtime.

And as for an added bonus, “guests” at the nearby Quincy Police Department headquarters will at least temporarily be enjoying fresh meat “Unhappy Meals” from Wendy’s and/or Popeyes during their stays as opposed to only being fresh meat until the police department can resume serving Happy Meals from Mickey D’s.

McDo’s is fortifying its service counter and kitchen space, replacing accessible parking spots with a police cruiser and EMT parking zone, and adding new gender-neutral restrooms with syringes, needle receptacles, and a Narcan resuscitation area.
