As has long been expected in the Quincy Quarry News newsroom as likely to happen, the US Attorney for Massachusetts has filed hate crimes charges on top of the usual sorts of charges over a driver smacking a pedestrian and then driving away from the scene.

“Hate has no place here in Massachusetts. As this case demonstrates, we will aggressively prosecute hate crimes and other civil-rights offenses committed because of the actual or perceived race, color, religion, or national origin of any individual or group. Confronting hate crimes is a priority of my administration. I have established a standalone Criminal Civil Rights Unit and a hotline dedicated to the investigation and potential prosecution of civil rights violations,” said United States Attorney Rachael S. Rollins in a statement.
Further, as near as Quincy Quarry News can tell, it would appear that its media brethren at Boston 25 were first to break word of the federal indictment over allegations of a hate crime.
Fortunately, Boston 25’s online posting of its coverage does not include the disquieting video of the stuck pedestrian ending up in at the bottom a deep utilities construction work trench as does 25’s broadcast coverage.
At least not so far anyway.
At the same time, there is still no word out of the US Attorney’s office if it will be pursing civil rights violations against the City of Quincy for its long-ongoing efforts to kochblock the City of Boston’s plans to rebuild its Long Island Bridge on its dime.
Similarly, there continues to also be no (valid, ed.) statement out of the Koch Maladministration as to why it has yet to fill the budget-funded position for a City of Quincy community liaison position in support of equity and inclusion

The Quincy Quarry is anti-Quincy.
U.S. Attorney Rachael Splaine Rollins is smart enough not to take on such a frivolous case. Further, Rollins woke statements last year did not scare Mayor Koch from doing what he believes is right.
Our stand-up Mayor, Thomas P. Koch, always acts in the city’s best interest, and his stand on the bridge is proof.

Say, Porko, how often do you have to replace your kneepads? You must wear them out on a regular basis.
Porky,
It remains to be seen if US Attorney Rollins files a civil rights suit against the City of Quincy over its so far all failed attempts to koch-block the bridge. To this point, be sure to note that the Koch Machine has not announced word of the US Attorney advising the machine that it was dropping its investigation per SOP in such matters. And for another, our peerless mayor has a woeful losing record in court. But sure, maybe this time he will finally get lucky.
