The Federal Transportation Administration will officially be dumping its final report on the myriad of problems at the MBTA at 10:30 AM today; however, in a local leak that hearkens back to Deep Throat, the Boston broadsheet claims to have already scored a copy of the report in advance of this morning’s presser.

While obviously there is much read and then digest given what all is wrong at the MBTA, there are at least several key takeways at this point.

One is that unfortunately the feds are not planning to put the MBTA into receivership.

At least not at present even if straphangers surely continue to hope that the feds will takeover the T.

After all, how could things get any worse …

In the meanwhile, Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch has to be breathing huge sighs of relief.

After all, Mayor Koch has also been the Chair of the MBTA Advisory Board for a decade as well as is the most senior member of the MBTA’s Board of Directors.

Additionally, Morgan and Morgan, as well as other ambulance and corner van chasers, are surely licking their chops as to what all the report is going to provide them in the way of useful information to press claims on behalf of aggrieved as well as often injured straphangers.
