Quincy struck by third fire in three weeks
– News about Quincy Massachusetts from Quincy Quarry News
The center of Quincy was hit by its third fire in three weeks last night.
In turn, Quincy Quarry News would appear to have yet scooped its media brethren, this time with at least exclusive night vision images from the fire scene on Brook Road roughly between Star Market and Lincoln-Hancock Community School, if not also the first published text about the fire.
The roving Quincy Quarry News night shift personnel on the scene found the smell of the fire heavy in the humid predawn hours of a typical muggy August night.
Fortunately, the said to be at least two alarm fire was quickly knocked by Quincy Fire Department personnel and thus the worst of the fire damage was limited to the upper back part of the stricken two-family and some heat damage inflicted on the exterior of the adjacent two-family.
Even so, residents in the central part of Quincy have to be hoping that the run of bad luck that has resulted in fires in their part of Quincy is running out.

I was reading about the fire in Quincy and thought you should know that on Saturday I witnessed a 13 yr old boy, Joshua Langley of Quincy put out a brush fire outside of Quincy City Hall. He saw it and ran over with several bottles of water and put it out. Only after he was sure the entire area was soaked did he return to his backpack and bag to sitdown to text his mother who is fighting stage 4 breast cancer to tell her why he was going to be late and not be home until after dark. All the while dozens of people were commenting on the smell and peeked at the smoke only to walk away. I sat and spoke with him for a few minutes and when I asked what made him do it. He simply said it was the right thing to do like it wasn’t something amazing. He had been running a quick errand because his mother was feeling ill from chemo. Then he saw some baby bunnies and went over and fed them some of the kale he had bought for his Guinea pigs, telling the bunnies not to be scared and that they, their family and home were safe. His family, friends and city should be proud. You just don’t see teens doing good things enough. I can only imagine the absolutely amazing man he will be since he is only in 8th grade at Broad Meadows Middle School. I have photos if you would like them.
