Quincy restaurant trash cans koch-blocking Washington Street sidewalk
In a follow-up Quincy Quarry story to the Quarry’s recent coverage about how US Attorney for Massachusset Rachel Rollins has opened up an investigation to discern whether or whether or not the City of Quincy has been koch-blocking the City of Boston’s plans to rebuild its Long Island Bridge on its dime has been in violating the civil rights of the addicted per the Americans with Disabilities Act, one of Quincy Quarry’s Citizen Photojournals happened upon what clearly appears to be a violation of rights of disabled locals.
The new problem facing the disabled locally was discovered under cover of darkness after hours.
And the problem itself: a popular local purveyor of adult libations and comfort food is koch-blocking the sidewalk with its trash cans after closing time.
Then again, when it comes to local code compliance, only favored as well as generous Koch campaign fund contributors, local restaurants are the next most favored local enterprises.
After all, it is unarguably obvious that Quincy’s peerless mayor has all but assuredly never missed a meal.

CAGNEY’S, with the city’s blessing, turned its garbage area into an outside seating area
Now giant smelly overstuffed trash cans are left curbside most nights and so blocking the sidewalks, not to mention that the bars outside furniture is stored on the sidewalk.
Add noise, drunks, smokers, taking up curbside parking, and trash. Not a great neighbor!
Surprising that an LGBTQIA bar would make life even more difficult for people with disabilities.
Did the building at the corner of Washington and Coddington (next to the post office) get a “variance” to obstruct and encroach on the sidewalk with its steel support beams for the new add-on upper stories?
Is the building owner connected in some way to the Lord Mayor?
Asking for a friend.
Asterisk,
As for the recently expanded and mostly residential building that has long been under construction that you noted would clearly appear to have been granted troubling setback from busy street easements, yes, the owner and the mayor are variously connected.
For example, the owner and our peerless mayor went on at least one trip together to Europe some years ago.
No confirmation — not yet anyway, if the building owner picked up any of the checks for the mayor’s meals or did any other such favors for his travelling buddy. Cash leaves no trail, etc.
At the same time, it was surely but a coincidence that the mayor hired the owner’s daughter for a high-profile city post shortly after she is said to have been eased out of a job within the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office.
Respectfully, why are Koch and his enablers NOT in jail?
