In a case that can only remind Quincy residents of a recent as well as the latest damning local scandal that saw a connected peep slipped on to Quincy police force, a Boston police officer was arrested and then released on personal recognizance.

The police officer was charged with intimidation of an internal affairs sergeant detective who was investigating the charged officer’s residential status.

The City of Boston requires that one must be a local resident to be eligible for hire and then live in Boston for a time after hire.

The officer arrested was already on administration leave given what has been an ongoing investigation of his residency status.

Further, court documents during the alleged offender’s arraignment, “(t)his was the third in a series of confrontations instigated by Officer Morrissey while he was under investigation for allegedly violating the City’s residency ordinance.”
