Quincy Mayor Koch suffers a close shave!

The usually annual shearing of Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s beloved and likely colored helmet head hair at a Granite Communications fundraiser is one of the more amusing local events for the Quincy Quarry news team as well as many Quarry readers.

Also amusing was when Mayor Koch ducked getting a wiffle in 2020 when he “missed” the event by going on a junket to Ireland just as the COVID-19 pandemic was first hitting the fan.

Granted, the mayor is on the record in 2020 as saying that he would undergo a make-up buzzing, but locals know all too well what his word is worth.

That and how he will do just anything he can to save his by far best feature, if not also his only positive feature: a (relatively, ed.) full head of hair.

Accordingly, this year’s buzzing was much anticipated in the Quincy Quarry Newsroom and yet again this event did not disappoint.

For example, during what was appears to have been his first public appearance in the wake of the State Civil Service Commission decrying the way Mayor Koch’s older son was grifted onto the Quincy police force, the mayor was scalped.

And as for conversely making matters worse for Quincy Mayor Tom Koch this year, the photo op ho who is Quincy’s peerless mayor scored next to zip in the way of mention by Quincy Quarry’s media brethren at Boston 25 with its coverage.

In short, the power of dime dropped here and others there will eventually add up to significant influence.

Further, Mayor Koch did not score prime seating next to his Big Buddy Governor Charlie Baker during the shearing.

Accordingly, one cannot help but opine that perhaps the Skipper will soon be cutting his ties with longtime Little Buddy.

For example, perhaps cutting his little buddy from the new MBTA Board of Directors given Mayor Koch’s recent spate of ever-increasingly problematic scandals, not to mention that even more problems are expected to follow.

In the meanwhile so as to make a day for Quincy Quarry’s ever-growing legions of loyal readers, the Quarry scored some video of Mayor Koch being the one fleeced for a change.
