– News about Quincy Massachusetts from Quincy Quarry News
The City of Quincy is yet again late to announce an impending snow emergency and street parking ban.
The all too often slow Quincy Mayor Tom Koch’s Maladministration did most of the slow to report regional media other than Quincy Quarry a huge solid by ending up even later to realize that tomorrow’s storm would be an even bigger one than had been forecast by announcing a snow emergency but three hours and change before the concurrent street parking ban takes effects at 6 PM tonight.

How late on the draw is the Koch Machine?
As of later in the afternoon today, Quincy Quarry News personnel out and about on the mean and soon to be snow-covered streets of Quincy did see any signs of brine spread anywhere, let alone on key local major roadways.
Needless to say, the only people looking forward to this late announcement are the various koched-up local tow truck companies.
Great, now I have to fight with neighbors over parking. I remember the days when the City of Quincy had ample parking spots.
This snow emergency does not seem to be a snow emergency.
Seems harsh to criticize the city for a perceived lack of response in the face of these snow events — events that occur every year in New England — when in fact the city depends on many time-proven resources for planning its response:
The coin flip — cutting the cards — the dartboard — the Magic 8 Ball — the I Ching — the Ouija board — rock, paper, scissors — numerology — astrology — reading the tea leaves — rolling the dice.
So have no fear, we’re in good hands. Hey, that’s another one — palm reading.
