San Antonio Zoo’s Cry Me a Cockroach Valentine fundraiser is back!
The zoo is bringing back its wildly popular Cry Me a Cockroach fundraiser for a third year.
Bitter over a break-up? For a $10 donation, one can have a cockroach named for a former paramour before it is then fed to one of the zoo’s residents.
And for a surely popular option among females is the $25 option to see a rodent feed to carnivore. Even better, the rodents are first frozen.
Additionally, for the squeamish and/or vegans, there is a $5 option to offer up a veggie.
Better yet, for those with a real grudge, a $150 video package is available to record the feeding for posterity.
Further, also grudge holders so donating will be provided with a customizable certificate.
No idea what can be customized, however, one can only assume that it can be framed and then prominently displayed on a wall.
“We are very excited to bring back this Valentine’s favorite to exes from all over the world,” Zoo President and CEO Tim Morrow said in a statement.
“The Cry Me a Cockroach Fundraiser is a perfect way to rid that negative energy and contribute to securing a future for wildlife in doing so … (T)hese cockroaches and rats really are the unsung heroes of the food chain.”
To arrange for what one could rationalize as a “positive” cathartic experience, see sign-up particulars here.
