Quincy City Halls Snow Team Six out to lunch.
Nowhere to be seen out to lunch, that is.
While out and about on the third day after Friday’s rain, sleet, and freezing rainstorm on Friday and nine days after the near record-setting Bombogenis Blizzard of 2022, Quincy Quarry News personnel found Kim Jong Koch Plaza’s Snow Team Six’s two designated for the team’s use only Kubota mini-tractors parked in front of the Church of the Presidents shortly after noon on Monday.
So what, apparently, for the fact that Snow Team Six does not plow where the tractors were found parked as it is not city property.
Also problematic is how parts of Kim Jong Koch Plaza were not plowed, much less merely at least lightly salted.
Then again, such is typically the case, if not worse, for sidewalks throughout almost everywhere else in Quincy.
Accordingly, here is hoping that tonight’s rain and afternoon temperatures in the forties over the next few days might finally melt away what has not been cleared.
Other than the four glaciers along Kim Jong Koch Plaza, that is.
Yeah, the Lord Mayor makes a big deal about naming this $35 million boondoggle Hancock ADAMS Green, but can’t be bothered to have the snow cleared from the steps of the church where John Adams, John Quincy Adams, and their wives are buried.
Speaking of land grabbing, since the actual blizzard, joggers have been enjoying running the well-plowed cemetery where the mayor’s parents are buried.
Nepotism in Quincy continues even after death!
It sounds like the Koch administration is conducting some early election canvassing at the graveyard.
Polly,
It’s Ward 7, not a graveyard.
I was so mad to learn that Mayor Koch had his father relocated to the Mount Wollaton Cemetary after they told my sister and me that they had no space available for our mother.
Hmmm, when did this take place? In 2017 we were told that there was no space available at Mt Wollaston.
Patty,
See my response to Ms. Ho’s ask.
Were tax dollars were used to “create” burial space for the Koch family at Mount Wollaston?
Asking for everybody!
Where is the FBI’s public corruption unit?
Tick tock…….
Ms. Ho,
In answer to your ask, please not the following.
In the months leading up to the passing of Mayor Koch’s mother almost five years ago, Mt Wollaston Cemetery was undergoing a low six-figure renovation.
In fact, the work was jiggered a bit so as to accommodate her burial and the reinternment of her long dead-husband from a cemetery in Braintree.
The Kochs are buried in plots that were made available when an unneeded short roadway was removed during the renovation.
Other asphalt removed elsewhere surely opened up upwards of several hundred new burial plots or thereabouts in an otherwise fully spoken for cemetery.
So far, however, only the Kochs and former Quincy Mayor Walter Hannon and his wife have been buried in the new plots.
At last ask, the cemetery department said plots were not available at Mt Wollaston.
Per stated policy, plots are only made available upon the event of need and thus one should expect that none of the new capacity has been sold were it not Quincy.
And finally, the Kochs have a nicer plot than the Hannons, including under a lovely tree, near a water facet to help with laying flowers on the graves, and featuring the only apparent lawn sprinklers in the entire cemetery.
So they are only making new space available for Koch-connected white people? Corruption and racism exist even at Mount Wollaston cemetery. People need to wake up!
Why is this the first I’m hearing about this cemetery scandal? If this is true, the people need to be jailed and dug up! Is there any reporting on this?
OMG! HONEY GET IN HERE AND READ THIS THREAD!
Thank you.
But, but Dom — have you not seen the superb street plowing always provided around a certain North Quincy complex featuring a church, a parochial school, and a related church men’s only clubhouse?
Funny how that happens with such regularity, isn’t it.
Snow Team 6 needs to set up on a few of the DANGEROUS school bus stops around town. Children should not be dropped off on streets with NO sidewalk access!
Eleven days after the snowstorm and school bus stops are still not clear of snow? Not shocking. The safety of our children is not a priority.
Child endangerment! People need to be held accountable.
Update at 6: Mayor Saved By Warmer Weather
Why doesn’t the mayor get out and do some shoveling?
Marie,
Ever caught one of peerless mayor’s state of the city addresses or one of his press conferences?
Yes, I guess you’re right. He always looks like he just got out of bed.
