– News about Quincy from Quincy Quarry News with commentary added.
Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch is still MIA on the recent racial and sexual harassment incidents at local public schools.
In short, where is Tommy?
In the wake of incidents of inexcusable harassment, fighting, and even a student protest walkout at at least four local public schools in as many weeks, Quincy Mayor Thomas Koch, who as mayor is also the Chair of the School Committee, has been silent about these disconcerting events.
So silent that so far it would appear that he has not even relied on his go-to safe harbor of the local weekly tabloid to wax his usual bovine byproduct over the recent as well as increasing in magnitude troubling incidents at local public schools.
So gobsmacking has been Mayor Koch’s dereliction of his duties, a Quincy Quarry News reader suggested that a no comment shot clock be instituted until such time as Mayor Koch might emerge from the Kochbunker underneath City Hall and then so finally weigh in on recent events.

That and one would like to expect Mayor Koch will then concurrently take well-deserved hits for both his past actions as well as his previous statements which surely played crucial causal roles in the recent troubling events at local public schools.
While the techies at Quincy Quarry News have yet to propose how to add a shot clock to the Quarry’s home page, the Quarry will continue to dog the mayor until he does offer comment on the recent troubling incidents in local schools via perhaps as often as least daily Quincy Quarry exposés.
Do it! Do the clock!
It’s likely, though, that as soon as a clock is visibly ticking he’ll come out and intone a string of banalities — essentially say nothing in as many words as possible — and that will be the end of his involvement.
It’s already clear that he doesn’t view this as a problem worth his time.
.
Maybe he thinks that if he doesn’t say anything everybody will forget about it.
A fearless leader Koch is not. Hiding during a crisis that directly affects our children shows the mayor’s true character.
I’m betting that if it goes a full week he’ll never mention it. And if someone questions him about it he’ll go on defense immediately.
Mayor Koch only gets out of bed for his large campaign donors.
Jerry,
More like “… in bed with …” — but point taken.
