Quincy’s Burgin Parkway closed after a motor vehicle crashes Into a pole.
As if Mondays are not bad enough even if many are working remotely these days, just the evening rush hour was beginning, a stretch of Burgin Parkway in Quincy Center was shut down given a motor vehicle accident so as to allow Quincy Police accident investigation personnel to investigate things.
Accordingly, police advised commuters to seek other routes as Burgin Parkway would remain closed for a while this evening.
While details are currently limited, an individual driving a vehicle apparently struck a pole along the road, the vehicle appears to have been a moped of some sort or another, and the injured person was rushed to Boston Medical Center as Quincy no longer has a hospital.

The last sentence was an eye-opener. Years ago, my uncle was run down by a car on Quincy Avenue and was taken right to Quincy City Hospital.
I guess beautification of the city and that new useless bridge are more of a priority to our mayor and city counselors than a hospital.
Shameful.
Well THANK GOD the news helicopters were roaring around in the semi-darkness taking footage of a closed road and some flashing lights. A complete waste of resources with the added feature of obnoxious noise.
Sad story, but the lack of free parking spaces is putting more people on scooters.
