Quincy City Hall hosed down while Quincy residents are sweltering during a heatwave.
As per the standard practice of taking care of Tommy first, foremost, and always, today on the third day of a heatwave during what is looking to be the hottest June on record, Kim Jong Koch Plaza was treated to a cooling power washing this morning even foot traffic through it this week has been minimal at best.
That and the plaza’s tribute to the Dancing Waters at Las Vegas’ Bellagio Hotel were turned up so high that they gave rise to a rainbow.
Unfortunately for overheated locals, the usual heavy security presence around City Hall is surely not going to allow overheated locals from using the fountain as a slash pad.
Also troubling, while other area communities are opening up cooling centers and doing what all else they can to help their residents beat the heat, about all that Quincy Quarry could find that the City of Quincy was doing for overheated locals was to tweet out a keen sense of the obvious list of suggestions for dealing with the heat.
Hot temperatures are continuing through mid-week. Beat the heat for you and your pets. #HeatWave2021 #SafetyFirst pic.twitter.com/0fNLhuaIVq
