Quincy COVID-19 Infection rates continue to climb.
After a reported uptick in COVID case last week after two basically flat weeks, for the second week in a row Quincy’s COVID-19 infection rates increased per the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s weekly COVID-19 update report.
While, admittedly, a 2% increase in the local infection rate per 100,000 and a 3% increase in the local testing positive rate are modest, increases of cases two weeks in a row baits the potential for a three-week upward trend per next week’s Department of Public Health’s weekly COVID-19 update report.
And in the meanwhile, declines in local infection rates have ceased, steady progress on local vaccinations notwithstanding.
Further troubling, while the statewide average for infections is 9% higher than is the case in Quincy, the local testing positive rate continues to run a troubling half again higher than the statewide average.
Needless to say, Quincy Quarry News’ ever-growing legions of loyal readers can count on the Quarry to continue to monitor the situation and report back when and as appropriate.
