Quincy Quarry Weekly Fish Wrap: Mystery Solved!
After six weeks of no reports of local COVID-19 deaths, Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch looks to have inadvertently let it slip during his latest COVID-19 update YouTube the answer to this ongoing mystery: going forward local COVID-19 fatalities will only be reported once a week.
Apparently, city officials were unable to manage to keep track of both daily infection updates and the thankfully more but only occasional local COVID-19 fatality.
Either that or someone was not staying on top of incoming reports into the inbox.
That or perhaps ran out of shoes to take off during the daily count.
Walk or chew gum – but apparently not both at the same time.
In fairness given Quincy Quarry’s goal of providing balanced and fair coverage, the Quarry must again note that the City of Quincy did manage to prepare for the slush storm earlier this week.
No props to be pimped by City Hall, however, as Quincy caught a break when the rain/snow line moved a few miles west of expectations and Quincy so dodged the snow dump that hammered much of the rest of Massachusetts.
But Karma giveth and then taketh.
Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow on Tuesday and thus we should expect six more weeks of winter and which last night’s snowfall, as well as the extended local 10-day forecast, would appear to support.
Fortunately, Phil has a weather forecasting scorecard on the order of but a coin toss.
Conversely, the Massachusetts Audubon Society’s Ms. G conversely called for a short winter on Ground Hog Day and she has a much better batting average than does Phil as well as that the Quincy Quarry News crew knows better than to argue with a female who knows what she is doing.
Way better.
Or in general for that matter.
